Developing Human Driven Creativity.
Great teachers are everywhere. In every creative field, dedicated artists and mentors guide students toward mastery, often through intuition, experience, and hard-won wisdom. They know what works.
Yet this wisdom often remains siloed. The painter who trains a student “to see,” the musician who coaches a player “to feel the rhythm,” and the programmer who mentors a junior dev to build “an intuition for code” are all cultivating the same fundamental human ability: the transformation of conscious knowledge into unconscious skill. They have all drawn pieces of the same map, but no one has assembled them.
Hard Round is an attempt to assemble that map.
This isn’t a new method to replace what’s come before. Instead, it’s a project to contextualize and optimize what people are already doing well.
Drawing on insights from cognitive science, learning theory, and years of practice in diverse fields, my goal is to synthesize a common framework. It’s a way to connect the dots—to offer a shared language for the deep, “tacit” skills that are foundational to all creative work, but are often the hardest to talk about.
Here, we will explore the underlying architecture of skill acquisition. We’ll look at how to structure practice, develop perception, and navigate the psychological hurdles of the long game. The aim is to make the path to mastery more intelligible, so you can make better decisions on your own journey.
This is a space for those who are curious about the how behind the what. It’s a community built for deep and practical discourse. If you’re passionate about understanding the process of learning, creating, and mastering your craft, let’s explore it together.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to join this journey. Your support through purchasing my tools and products on Gumroad helps make this exploration possible, or you can directly support the effort on Ko-Fi.
